I liked the accent on the Honda owners, dead on! The Ford pickup is dead on too 
I have the 226 Elite in .40. I love that caliber but I have to admit the 229 in .40 is a little smoother and better balanced than the 226

can't go wrong with the Sig..
the other day at the range, I tried a xd9 and xd 40.. They both aren't bad but I rather have a glock over a xd personally.. Besides, Xd's aren't even made in the states..
Too bad you are all the way on the other side of the nation.. other wise, it would be nice to have a range day with fellow board members...

Glocks are nice...and reliable. I had a G26 that was also very reliable (no jams in its lifetime with me, over 6 years), but not as accurate as my Sig.

My .44 mag revolver would disagree, haha. I can't resist a good gun talk...
I also really like the feel of the Sig handguns. Their .223 (AR-15 style) rifle is pretty darn sweet too, just shot one of those a few weeks ago and was amazed at how smooth it is compared to a 1985 Colt AR that we tested it against. We got tighter groups with the Sig too.
Supra725, if you decide on a 1911 (which you mentioned earlier), try out a few others before you go with a Sig 1911. I'm not a hater, I really like most of their line, but 1911s are my thing and I wasn't overly impressed with Sig's version. It was as if they only made it because every other company is making one.
The S&W 1911PD is nicer. So are the Kimbers. But personally, I would go with an older Colt 70 series over any of them. I really didn't like my (Brazilian) Springfield GI much at all. It was pretty shabby quality - the plunger tube popped of the frame in less than a week, bad fit and finish, and it paled in comparison in durability, accuracy, and reliability to even my 98 year old Colt US Navy 1911. and that's just pathetic. Well maybe not - like cars and guitars, they definitely don't make 'em like they used to!

Glocks are truly hard to beat in the reliability arena. I agree with Brian...if i am going to buy a 1911, then i would buy Kimber or S&W.
BTW, my brother just got Berretta PX4 Subcompact. The feel is superb in your hands. So far, he's fired 150 rounds with no malfunction. I will closely watch his gun.

Friend of mine just brought a 556 not too long ago and it came with a $300 dollar rebate..
I wonder how the 556 in .22 lr would be?
I was looking at a few 1911's.. the Kimber, Springfield, Sig.. I need to look around and see if there are any for rents to try out before dropping the cash for one..
I do like the SW1911PD Tactical Rail Series, however though.. no body around me seems to have it..
Maybe try a Wilson Combat one?
The Colt 1911's are superb.. my friends dad has a gold cup.. Beautiful, very fine pistol..
Too bad I'm not LE.. they can get it under $400 for a new Glock.. the only thing sucks though, there are way too much restrictions in Cali..

Yes, Wilson Combat is another great choice (I haven't shot one personally, but the fit and finish is top notch and they got awesome reviews from pretty much everyone).
Too bad you don't have a Turner's up there. They seem to always have a SW1911PD w/ the rails in stock. I really want a Colt 1918 "black army" reissue. The price is over a grand, it has no modern features, but I guarantee it would be one of the funnest handguns to shoot in your collection. I would like one just to retire my Navy because I admit I shoot it too much (only about 10 or 20 rounds maybe once every 2-3 months) and I worry about breaking vintage parts (although it's as solid as any 1911 I've ever seen), and I inspect it religiously. I honestly just don't have nearly as much fun with any of my other autos as I do with the Colt.

HAHAHA YES!! I hate E46 owners! All they seem to know about the automotive world, is BMW. They think no company can surpass it.
Also, the VW owners suck too. Most of them aren't really owners either, they just lease them. And I don't care if they "fixed" their reliabilty issues... they're still assembled in Mexico!

I agree. They aren't the most friendly drivers, especially some of those behind the wheel of a giant lifted Cummins with stacks. They just love blowing smoke around and think that they are bad@$$. I personally don't really have a problem with the Dodge Ram, it's just the attitude of some of those drivers.

Vw's aren't even reliable. Look at audi's. Is either the clutch goes out or the turbo, for the prices. It shouldn't be that unreliable.
Also, I see more "lease" return than other manfacture. And they set themselves to be above the others. Resale values aren't even worth it.
He other day I went to the dealer, they have a loaded a4 with 51k miles asking $30k. For that price I can buy a really good 4th gen.

I have a glock26, bought it for the wife, she hated it so i kept it. Fun little thing to take to the range.
