10" Sub installation

Wanted to get some feedback on my 10" sub installation in the rear panel, amp is mounted under passenger seat.

Pic 3 Finally shot, I had to fill the cavity with insulation inorder to get the bass out of it.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, not as deep as my 12" but now I've got room in the back.

So that's a free-air install, right? Is the sub made for free-air? How does it sound? How many watts are you giving it?

Free Air Sub, never heard of such a thing until now. I guess you could say it is free air in that it is not a totally sealed unit, there was a small gap at the top of my MDF. I ended up filling the cavity with some pink insulation which brought out the bass and in turn this sealed my gap at the top I mentioned.
I think it sounds great, it doesn't thump like the 12" in a box that I had, but it doesn't take up any room either and it is a 10". It has no problems hitting the lows and minimal to no rattles or vibrations.
It is a Rockford Fosgate P110S4 - 150W RMS with a Pioneer GM7200M 250W RMS feed off my Scion H/U.

I'm sorry but I don't have any measurements, just that it was cut from 1/2" MDF. I just used a piece of cardboard to make a template. I had to play with the amount of insulation in behind for the sound I wanted. I would look at trying a free air sub as atomic punk mentioned, you may be able to get more base out of it. I'm considering that option myself.

If you can find a JL Audio 10IB4 you would be golden!

They are discontinued but you might luck up and find one lingering around a shop or possibly on ebay. They still make the 8s but you can only get them through ordering BMW stealth boxes.

You could also try the JL marine woofer... Its free air as well but you need atleast 7 inches of depth to fit it in.
