$1000 gas card on '06 SR5

One of the advertised promotions offered when I purchased my '06 SR5 last week was a $1000 Toyota gas card. The salesman mentioned it would be mailed directly from Toyota.

It dawned on me that I don't have any documentation that says anything about it. Has anyone recieved one of these? Is it a Visa debit card or similar?

It wasn't a deal-making promotion, but $1000 worth of free gas wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I have never heard of that before, maybe it is something only with your dealer. I checked the current incentives for the 4runner on the Toyota website and that didn't come up.

I looked up the zipcode for Sandy, UT to see if they had different incentives (http://www.buyatoyota.com/specials/specials.aspx) and they do not talk about $1000 gas. You do get $1000 cash rebate...do you think he meant you get 1000 back which could go tword gas?

Moab I am waiting on a gas card also on the one 4runner I bought from Karl Malone Toyota. It has been over 4 weeks and still no gas card. I call Amy over there every week, just to remind them what they promised me. Like you said though, I don't have the gas card in writing. BTW I'm over here in South Jordan.

This gas card was in addition to the $1000 rebates being offered. Given the way Toyota sales are organized, this may be a regional offering. I noticed that a dealership in Denver is offering the gas card too, and I believe Utah is part of that Denver sales region.

Pair - I purchased up at Menlove. It will be interesting to see if these cards show up in the mail. At least the Denver dealership is still advertising the gas card, but the promo ends tomorrow 7/5. I'm down here in Sandy. We should hook up some time and hit some backroads. The Transcontinental railroad drive and the Pony Express drives are great west desert day trips.

So if this has been going on for 4 weeks now, am i entitled to a gas card also? My dealer never told me about it, but does anyone know if Clovis CA (where my dealership was located) is included in this? PLEASE ADVICE!!! :awais:

rx - my sales guy said that it came from Toyota, so it isn't a rebate that the dealer might try and take from you. At least it didn't seem that way. You may want to call your dealer and let them know this was offered in other sales regions. As I understand it, Toyota has this middle layer of regional sales entities, so maybe it is in select areas of slower sales.

This gas card was offered on Tundra, 4R and one or two other models. It was not offered on the FJC or Taco, which we also considered.

Couldnt hurt to ask your dealer. If it is regional, your dealer may truly know nothing about it.

I am getting a $300 gas card from my dealership.

I ordered my 4Runner Sport Edition months ago and got it on 06/17/2006. The promo started on 06/15/2006. I am not supposed to be qualified with the promo because I ordered before the promo started BUT my salesman argued with the manager because the actual delivery is during the promotion.

$300 gas card is so little compared with the $1000 gas card but i'll take anything free from my dealership. Here in Hawaii, we don't have any of the rebates or low financing promos.

Just to let you guys know my gas card finally came after 6 weeks. Its from Toyota, but is a 1000 points card set up through American Express good at any gas station that takes AE. So free gas for awhile.

Is a point considered a dollar? That is a pretty sweet deal, I wish my dealer had that offer.

Yep 1 point = 1 dollar, sorry should have said that. I think the 1000 dollar card was for certain areas only, I think Toyota feels sorry for peeps like me that live in Utah. To make matters worse I moved here willingly :bash:

Pair - glad to hear you got your card. I see that the promotion is still running here in Utah.

I moved here willingly too, but it's not so bad. Now I have a great SUV to go explore the backroads. I do have days when I wonder what the hell I'm doing here!
