100k anniversary, and a battery question

My '05 just clocked 100,000miles on friday. :jump:

First the battery question - after hooking up a new battery yesterday the tailgate window auto up/down wasnt working. After a few tries it started working again.
The drivers window still wont auto up or down. How to fix?

Moving on - Treated it to a new set of Revo 2s (2weeks ago), an oil change, new battery (was still on original and voltage getting low), a wash n shine, and a photoshoot. :wink2:

I have renewed interest in it, the transformation in road noise and steering with new tires has made it feel as good as new. What I am most astounded by is the overall condition and feel of this vehicle on road. I have had many high mileage vehicles (up to approx 200,000miles). None came close to looking and driving this well at 100,000miles. Everything still looks mint, paint is shiny, rubbers are soft and black, everything works, no squeeks or rattles, fires up within 2 turns every time (even after 3 weeks standing outside in winter...(on an old battery)), revs clean to the redline, shifts smoothly, uses no oil, nevers gets hot. These vehicles rock!

Check the Owners Manual. There should be a window calibration procedure.

100,000 miles is nothing on a Toyota. I'm on Toyata #6 (and my 3rd 4Runner). Every one of my Toyotas was amazingly tight and dependable as they approached or exceeded 200,000 miles. Other than my fairly new '08, the "low mileage" one of the other 5 had 152,000 miles (my previous '00 4Runner) only because I wanted the '08.

You must NORMALIZE the windows anytime you unhook the battery.To do this just press the drivers window switch down and hold for a few seconds,it should then work normally.Do the same for the tailgate .Good luck and keep on rollin!

Ok I'm way late to this, but anyway. I just had to replace the battery on my '04. Was trying to avoid any issues after the battery change. I thought I was going to have to buy or borrow a couple tools to preserve the Keep Alive Memory during the change. But the service guy at the dealership told me to just swap out the battery while the car is running. Worked perfectly. Nothing to reset or fix.
