I’d like to share that I really appreciate that you do not edit out any of your learning mistakes, it helps us all learn and avoid the potential lumps. You always end up getting it done proper and that is where the conference gets passed along ��

Sean and I do cut out a lot of our struggles just so the video isn't any longer than it has to be but we try to at least share what we struggled with and how we finally overcame it. A good example is the last video we posted, the u-joint replacement. [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION] and I struggled big time but we finally got it done. Since we had tried so many different things and filmed it all, I thought the viewer would get a little lost watching it so I decided we would film another u-joint replacement. Luckily [MENTION=168172]sleepydad[/MENTION] let us borrow his slip yoke and we were able to do the job again showing a much more clear cut way how to accomplish the job. And, even shooting it a second time, we still learned as we went but it was much better than our first attempt.

I completely agree with you that it's important to share with the viewing audience what worked and what didn't because they might be inclined to try something that we already tried and found that it didn't work very well at all.

Also when making these videos, we have made some fatal mistakes that made us consider scrapping the whole video. One example is the Manual Hub Swap video where [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION] and I forgot to properly support the new bearing when pressing the hub in. Jordan realized the mistake after we shot the video. Since we don't want to share bad techniques, especially ones that could destroy an expensive part, I decided to shoot another clip sharing with people the right way to do it before they watched us pressing the hub into the bearing without supporting the bearing inner race on the opposing side. So, we salvaged the video and opened ourselves up to criticism but I feel as long as we made sure people got the correct information or technique, we did things right. Everyone makes mistakes and you just have to admit them and learn from them.
