100w or 80w in High Beams?

Is anyone running 100w or 80w bulbs in their high beams? I want to make sure that doing so will not cause harm to the housing or wiring. The extra output would be great. Pics please! Thanks

Unless you want to install some hi-temp sockets I wouldnt do it. I have 80W yellow fogs and I did install hi-temp sockets, no problems yet.

Do some searching on HIR bulbs. I have them in both hi/low beams. They are incredible compared to stock, the closest you can get to HID in my opinion.

i'm running 100 watt xd-5 bulbs in my high beams and have been for about a year now with no ill effects (knock on wood!).

i also put higher wattage (can't remember the number, maybe 80?) in my low beams and fogs; no problems there either...

I wouldn't do this without installing a new harness, you risk fire and/or your wiring harness burning up.

What you can do is buy an aftermarket fog light wiring harness. You can use the wire to the high beams to trigger the new relay. This way you can run any watage you want without risking burning up your trunk or factory harness. I have done this before on other rigs and it works great and you can still use the factory controls.
