There is something to be said for my trusty runner. It felt as if the E brake was sticking, so i took the truck into my local dealership who always does a great job, they found the problem which required removing, cleaning, and lubricating both parking brake mechanisms, and now it runs perfect again. the dealership was amazed at the condition of the vehicle under the hood and how clean it was. 104k miles and this truck should last a long long time. now i just wish i could figure out how to replace the rusty parts under the hood with clean ones without it costing a million bucks. I had thought about after market wheels, and other mods, but i've come to appreciate that this truck is very happy the way it is.

It's good to know that you enjoy your 4runner. They are certainly nice vehicles.

got it new in '00, drove it til '04, my brother had it for the next 4 yrs in chicago, then i got it back in jan '08 and put major bucks into it on exterior and interior. i just cant seem to get myself to put money into aftermarket stuff like bumpers/lifts/etc as i dont offroad, as cool as that stuff looks. only thing i wish i could do now is dremel the rust off of parts under the hood, but am pretty sure it would return right away.

yeah, i just talked to a wheel refinisher here in town and they want $145/wheel to refinish/paint any color i want. i enjoy the stock style, not sure i want an aftermkt wheel. but 145, wow. working on getting some photos posted

For $145 you can definitely pick up some decent rims.

Does that $145 include powder coating?

Which stock rim do you have?
