'12 FJ shock lower eye

Hey does anyone know if there is any difference with the 2012 FJ bilstein lower eyes? I know, thanks to a sticky here, that the '07 is 39.3mm and the '10 is 41.5mm.

Is the 2012 the same as the '10 or has it changed?


Also, has anyone swapped a '10 or newer without their own machine shop to make the changes?

I'm not sure on any of your questions.
If you bump this a few times some one on here most likely knows. I'm sure there's a few Toyota technicians or our vendor sponsors that have the technical answers you're looking for.Try engaging them directly via PM if you don't get any replies.

From what recall reading the 2010+ will all have the wider spacing. It can be easily ground down.

IMHO I would skip them and just install new Bilstein 5100's that way you have a warrentied damper. These can be purchased new for just over $300 for all 4.

so i guess that answers your question and satisfied my curiosity

personally, i did tacoma trd/bilstein hd shocks in the front and fj cruiser 2008 bilstein hd's in the rear. plug N play. shocks are cheap enough to not have to mess around with pressing them out and crap like that. huge time waster to save $175

Thanks for your help guys. I'll see if I can grab the springs w/o shocks and get new bilsteins.

this site is the best for the help. i've never gotten into forums and stubbornly tried it all myself, but that's massive spend on time and money usually to find I should've just done it right the first time.
