$1200 to spend

So I came across some money in an old bank account that I had when I was in the Marines before I got married and want to close the account and spend the money. I once again need your advice on how to spend money.

I was thinking I could go for an ARB locker + compressor installed or get a bunch of armor (Skidrow skids, gas tank skid and sliders)? It can't be too noticeable since my wife doesn't know I'm doing it so that rules out front/rear bumpers unfortunately.

Any input would be helpful.

ARB rear locker, no question. It will make your truck a point and go vehicle, but completely transparent when you don't want it there.

Your truck will instantly be capable of completing both level 3 trails and mall parking lots with ease, increase your manly factor by 800%, and will allow you to slay dragons while driving blindfolded.

Some restrictions apply, like only in the movies.

lol, white text ownage

Hope this helps,

Leary

Actually i change my vote, buy some good tools, the tools will last much longer than the truck, and they are easily hidden. I would much rather a nice tool collection than the mods, yet having both are even better. ;)

I would like to be able to finally cruse the mall parking lot with ease, I almost got wrecked over the holidays.

So I guess it is time to find a shop to install an ARB locker. I know there are mixed reviews about 4wheelparts but I don't know any other shops around here. Any recommendations within an hour or two of Ventura county?

a good question to ask here.

Something to think about. A locker, which I love mine, will get you further and into harder terrain. Of course that will put your rockers and soft belly in harms way.

Must be nice to just "find" that kind of cash lying around!! he he he! I hate you! JK!

Good luck with the purchase, and with hiding it from the wife!:hatsoff:

I had the same thing happen to me a little over a year ago, but I did the boring thing and invested it.

I vote for the locker too.

OK Iam going to be the second one to kind of say this. Never good to lie or hide things from someone you love. I would sit down with her and let her know you forgot about the account and that after your recent mods and trips in the truck you want to do a few more to help protect it and the passangers. Then as mentioned by the other person offer to let her splurge a little(nice gift) on herself and then you get a few goodies for the truck. They will always find out and can back to haunt you.

x2 it's gonna come back to bite you in the ass. Get her a generous gift and then mod.

I would say go with the locker because with that you can basically go anywhere. And also get something for the wife. Main reason i dont have any mods yet lol!!!

Just had a talk with the wife about the money, and me wanting to spend it on the 4Runner. She was cool with me spending it on something I wanted to since I had earned the money while I was in Iraq, she knows where the rest of that money went, her engagement ring and honeymoon. She asked if she could buy a piece of furniture to help balance it out though. Sweet.

Thank you guys for the ideas and helping me stay honest with my wife, both are greatly appreciated.

I'm going to talk with a shop or two tomorrow about doing the install next week.
