12v accessory source to tap into for radar detector hardwire?

I'm trying to hardwire my V1. I've look ed at some threads, but can't find anywhere easy and specific to tap into.

I'm looking to tap in under the dash, but theres a lot of wires there! Which one is for the 12v accessory?

9500i like mine is a better detector but.....there is the fuse panel underneath the steering wheel. I went to autozone and got a fuse tap. Look at the diagram for the fuse box on the back over the cover and locate the 12V cig lighter one. Tap into in a your good to go. I ran the wire up the a pillar, under the headliner and mounted my detector just to the right of the mirror. Cant even see it from the outside = no theft issues.

thanks for the info. I was hoping I didn't have to buy and extra parts. I'll probably try the add a circuit method throught the fusebox.

We won't get into that discussion. Its like $2 in pieces, nothing really. Do you have an inline mute button? Min fit perfectly on one of the empty button holes below the steering wheel as well.

fuse taps are a pretty bad idea, they will bend the metal that holds the fuse, and eventually cause it to be an intermittent connection.

I don't have the V1 in my 4runner, but my lexus i just pulled power off of the rear view compass power since it sits right below my mirror. works great in that.

Yeah... that's what I was looking for. i didn't know which wire to tap into. oh well. Too late. I already got the add-a-circuit.

Can you tap into the map lights? I have my gps up by the mirror and the hardwire is not long enough to properly wire it to the dash.
