Its been about a year since I posted here, and ive done quite a bit of work.
Car: 98 toy 4runner SR5 4x4 manual.
Short ram intake, cleaned plenum and such when I replaced the HG's, 256k miles.
I have been without A/C for about 3 years =..( and I live in the armpit of america... houston. This year was excessively hot, so I spent the painstakingly earned 40$ at toyota and picked up the high side aluminum tubing to replace the old one that rubbed a hole in itself on the front firewall.
Vacuumed it down for about 20 mins, for those of you who dont have a vac. pump, get an old window AC unit, or a refrigerator and pull the compressor from it, be sure to get the capacitor with it! and if your doing a long suck down, put the pump in a tub of water so it wont overheat! mine got hot enough to make toast sitting out of water for about 10 mins.
After vacuuming it down, I filled it with 1 can of oil, a little bit of dye, and then the freeze 12.
Keep in mind that freeze 12 operates at a lower pressure than 134, so its easier on your system. Look up a PE chart to get the right readings.
Mine happens to be overfilled, so dont base your fill on my gauge readings.
Sitting still in my driveway at 95 degrees outside, the vent temp drops to about 48' when the intake temp is around 78~82.
If your in the houston area, LMK if you want yours filled, ive got a 30lb bottle.
