15" rims

I've got a friend with a 98 limited Auto and he tried to have 15's black steels put on and they hit the caliper. will 15's hit myne? I've got a 96 sr5 V6 Manual. thx.

His came standard with 16's urs might be ok depends on the style of the rim.

15s won't work on anything but the 4 bangers. Why do you want the smaller rim?

Probably but his truck is the SR5 4wd which came with the same size tires/rims as his buddie's and probably are identical to his. Toyota didn't actually offer different Limited wheels til '99.

why would he be trying to put a smaller black steel rim on? find a good deal on some spinner hubcaps? lol

my 98 ltd has 16s and yes the calipers and rotors are bigger than sr5 and base models. The only way to fit 15s is to grind the caliper to clear the rim. You have to be careful doing this. And I can't recommend how to do it.

there are more tire sizes for 15' rims, they are cheaper and more common.

I don't see adrastic price increase. I would stick with 16's because like someone said you are going to have brake clearence issues and probably a speedometer that is no longer accurate.

There are also sizes of 15s you can't get like a comprable set of TerraGrapplers isn't available in 15s.
