'15 TRDP - Can't reset maintenance message (I used the manual)

I bought my TRDP June 26, and I already have 6K miles on it. I went ahead and changed the oil a bit early, and went to reset the maintenance message in the gauge cluster, but it will not reset. I went by the owners manual and have even tried the methods used in previous year models to no avail. Was there something changed for these that was not amended in the manual?

Did this last week on my old 2013 without Smart key

Turn on ign key, don't start
Push trip reset button until trip A shows
Turn off
Hold trip reset in and turn key on - don't start
Wait until the display shows a line of ----- getting shorter
It will go to all zeros
Turn off, maint light will be off next time key is on

If you have the Smart key, it's too fancy for me.

No smart key. I will give that a shot the next time. The instructions in my manual have me pressing the DISP button instead of the trip reset button.

I did the same thing 1st time. It is not the disp button on the steering wheel but the trip reset button.
