Alright i am in a little bit of a problem, Im running 10w30 in my truck right now in its around the temperature around here is in the 80 sometimes 90s. But winter is starting. I have 10w30 in it right now but the oil pressure is still low. Should i run 15w30 or stay 10w30 for winter? i have 10w30 castrol high milage. My truck has 236 k. Thanks

I run 15/40 Rottella T in everything cos I have it in bulk for the dump trucks. It takes a little longer to warm up in the winter but, I have sent my (4runner) used oil in for spectro analyzing along with the big truck oil and despite a little carbon (from leaky rings and valve seals I imagine) they found little to no metallic residue compared to the Cat diesels.

I also have my 4runners on a once a year oil change schedule only changing filter and topping off oil every 3000 miles.

alright so iam just gonna do the switch to 15w 40 castrol high milage for all seasons then. ill just make sure to let my truck warm up longer in winter time. where does your oil pressure sit at? in the middle? mine sits around the 1st dash. i know that is low thats why i wana switch

my buddy has a 22re pick up truck with 200 k and he uses 5w30 and then adds a quart of 30 weight to it
