16x9 Rim too wide?

Hey guys, quick low down. 97 Limited, stock (excpet for IR blocking tint) I am purchasing coilovers and a-arms later this summer (most likely Camburg, as they are around the corner from my work). I had planned on getting a set of Raceline 16x8s because the price was right. Through my buddy I can pick them up for 100 each brand new.

So I was at the local wheel and tire place getting new tires on the girlfriends Mustang and got to talking to the GM, who happens to be a former boss of mine from years back. I told him what I was in the market for and we talked about Raceline and Method Wheels. After a few minutes he said "I am putting new wheels on my FJ you can just have whats on there now." Whats on there now is a set of 16x9 Axis Regulators, they are a baja style wheel with a "streetlock" read fake beadlock. I know these will stretch out my stock 265/70/16s but I dont plan on keeping them that long anyway.

My question is will these wheels rub? And will they stick out beyound the fender being that they are 9 inches wide.

Here is a photo of the wheels, and actually the FJ they are coming off of.

Obviously I will be painting the rings, yellow isnt my color.

I hope they fit. I have some 17x9's showin up tomorrow. The only thing you really have to worry about is the backspacing. They'll definitely stick out a little further. They should be fine tho.

what backspacing you get with your 17x9? cause I have some on the way too with 4.75BS

It will fit, the sidewall be be pretty much flush with the edge of the wheel. You really should go up a size or two in tires in the near future though.

I plan on getting a set of 285/75/16s when I put the lift on, probably the General Grabber AT2's. Just gotta get the paper first!

I've got 17x9 wheels with a backspacing of 4.6 (same as stock) and they fit fine. I'm running 285/70/17 tires and rubbed the pinch weld at first but nothing a BFH can't fix. 265's will fit on that wide a rim too. I had one mounted with a 265/70/17 and looked ok.

My backspacing is 4.5
