17" Rims + Tires

I'm thinking about getting some.

What are some good cheap 17" rims and 32" or 33" inch tires?

I was thinking of getting a 255/85/16 tire for my current 16" rims, do they make those in 17" sizes?

Very hard to say without them being on the truck, they are very in-between. I like black but they dont look rugged enough to me, look more like car wheels. The deep lip will help though if you do decide to get them.

grab a set of stock takeoffs...pic 1, 16" Tacoma wheel with "ashphalt" powdercoat, pic 2, 17" Sequoia wheel with "Indian" high gloss black/clearcoat powder, pic 3, 17" GX470 Lexus wheel. These will all fit your ride, as far as tires go...we run 265/65/17's, on a non-lifted rig.

Stock Toyota wheels off another vehicle are a good place to start.

The biggest size you can run with 17" wheels is 265/70/17.

I picked up some of the 17" Sequoia/Tundra rims, like in picture #2, a week or so ago. Can't wait to get them mounted.

Thanks for the advice but I think I'll stick with 16" rims and 33" tires. The reason being it's the cheapest alternative. If I want to go the 17" rim route I would have to spend $400 + on the rims and then I will still be stuck with 16" rims that are in kind of bad shape, I don't think anyone would want to buy them.:infidel:

I agree with 240m3srt, those wheels would look better in a car.

They make a 255/75/17 which is the 17" equivalant of a 33" or a 255/85/16 and yes they do make about the same selection as in the 16" mostly mud-terrains.

probably need spacers w/ those wheels w/ an aggressive tire in a 33" I've got the same wheels w/ a 265/70/17 BFGs (aprox 32"), and they rub the frame at full lock.

Yeah, I have 285s (equiv to a 33) with a 2.5 inch lift and I still rub at full lock and going into dips etc... its not at the top that you have the rub its behind the front wheels. Stock you are gonna have some major rub I think... Im prob gonna get a 1" body lift to try and eliminate the rest of the wheel rub I get.
