17x8 with 265/70/17

Thats my new plan on a tire wheel set up. Do u think i can clear this with a aftermarket wheel with no rubbing? Was goin to get a spacer for front to level up a inch. I was lookin at the moto metal 950's Already have the tires on the way Nitto terra grapplers

I think those rims look to busy and bling , but if thats what you like thats totally cool.

I also would like to know the answer to her question , will they rub ?

Tires should fit fine. I know people who run Michelin LTX's in that size with no lift and they work fine. As for the wheels it depends on the backspacing. I believe the 4Runner Sport wheels have a -25mm backspacing. I changed my Sport wheels to a Tundra wheel and they are wider because they have less backspacing. Something to chew on. I would have to agree with Falls about the wheel choice as well, sorry!
 
The tires are here and I'm really trying to decide on rims and if they will fit without rubbing I get really lost in the offset and backspacing junk???I wish somebody was running a setup like i'm wanting???
 
I'm running 265/70/17 Wranglers on stock rims and don't have a problem at all. Not sure about the different rims though.
 
Yes i have 265/70/17 nitto's i know they will clear but i dont know about a 8inch wheel with a lil offset than factory will work without having to cut up the inner fenders
 
I have searched on here and everywhere cant find anybody or anything i may have to try it out first???but thanks for the help
 
265/70/17 will fit , the question is with a 17x8 rim .

As far as the 1" leveling kit I dont know about ride quality changing . You might want to give Deputy92 a PM , since he did it to his.

Also Jason might be able to chime in with his experiences.

Took me a while but I found the pic I was thinking of. He is running 17x8 but with 285's and a lift. Here is the LINK TO THE THREAD. You can read what brand and offset they are. They look like motometals but I dont think they are.


HERE IS ANOTHER LINK to someone running 17x8 w/ 265/70-17 tires without a lift.

I run a LTX M/S in a 265/70/17 on a Tundra wheel and i only rub in full lock backing up to the right. Otherwise, I'm ok.
