17x9 WHEELS?

Hey fellas, just got a 2016 SR5. I wanna get new rims but don't want to purchase tires yet. Is it safe to mount stock tires on a 17x9 inch rim? Stock tires are 265/70R17. Here's the rims in question. Worst case senerio I'll buy larger tires & level kit, Any recommendations? Thanks!

Am running stock tires in a 17x9 and according to the tire specs am good, however is at the higher end of the spec, I recommend running 17x8 because is what fits better to the most common size tires we run in tr4's

I have 17x9 with a -12 offset which yields stock back spacing. with 265/70/17 they were fine and didn't look stretched. No rubbing or issues at all. With 275/70/17 KO2s at stock height they did rub on the fender liner but once I lifted it the rubbing was gone. I love the 17x9 wheels. They push the tires flush with the wheel well while maintaining stock clearances on the inside. :nod:

That is exactly what I was looking for. I was a little concerned as the recommendations I have seen show 9" wheels a little over the max wheel width for 275s. But I'm sure as with most things that is a little conservative. Thank you very much! Your Runner looks great!
