18" wheels for TE

So while I work with a couple of dealers to locate the 4Runner I want (Shoreline TE with KDSS/NAV), I've continued my research for different mods, including lift, tires, and wheels. I expect to keep the OE 17" wheels for more aggressive mud tires (looking at the Firestone M/Ts) but would like a second set of 18" wheels for a more street friendly tire (most likely the LTX M/S in a 265/70/18). Specific to 18" wheel options, I find that most of the wheels available are black (not my cup of tea) or 9" wide. Ideally, I'd like a simple 6-spoke design in silver, in either a 18x7.5 or 18x8.

I've spent countless hours looking on the internet through different wheel/tire sites, just can't seem to find anything close to what I like. I'm considering the 4th gen 4Runner Limited wheels, as well as the GX 460 wheels, but would like to consider other options.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Most aftermarket 18" wheels are 8.5-9" wide. I do not recall seeing anything narrower in the 4Runner's bolt pattern. You may want to consider some 285/60/18 - which will look good on a wider wheel. There are street friendly tires available in that size. The Cooper zeon comes to mind and they are not very expensive. Over on 4Wheel Parts there is a Method Race wheel http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/M...t_pt=10131&t_pl=102213&t_pn=MRWMR30189060312N

Its 18x9 but at least it's not black.

Thanks Rook - I've seen the method wheels and liked them. I've also seen the Enkei RT6's with machined lip.

Often times the best thing is to wait a bit until something better comes along. I'm hoping more OE options are offered between the FJ, Tacoma, 4Runner or GX. In the meantime, they'll be enough mods for the first year to keep me busy (and broke!) between lift and sliders, and tires for the 17".

Thanks!
