180k Maintenance

Hey guys,

I took my 95 runner 4wd v6 to dealership for a stearing relay rod recall....and the mechanic made a suggestion to do a 180k maintenance....

Does anyone have any info on this specific milage maintenance, what's involved, and how important it is, etc...

The reason why I ask is because I've been pretty good about maintaining all the maintenance parts in the vehicle ...and may not need it.

thanks!

P.S. i have 187.5k now.

Tell the dealer NO.........that you are going to wait for the 190K mile service. Come home, get online and look up the 175k service interval service requirements for your vehicle. If you choose not to do it yourself...then take the info you get online to a local reputable shop to have them do it for you. I'm thinking you will need the timing belt/chain, water pump checkup/change, lube all u/v joints, oil change, tranny change, all filters changed, spark plugs, rotor or electronic ignition changed, brakes checked, brake fluid flushed, power steering flush, engine coolant flush, etc...etc.

As you can see, the dealer will probably give you the 180k service but charge you so much that you'll think you paid for all of your missed service intervals in this one balloon payment.

I had all those parts + more, changed to brand new at 155k when i bought the vehicle, so at this point I don't think I need anything else...I change engine oil every 3k, and changed air filter @ 30k...

I guess, I'm good to go.
