Hey guys,
Thinking about buying a 1986 4Runner with 180000 on the the entire vehicle. Picking it up for 1200$ USD. Still runs great but it is obviously getting older and is going to need some work to be considered a reliable vehicle.
My question is with that many miles any ideas what is is going take both mechanically and monetarily ( rough estimate ) to get this baby back in shape.
My vehicle puked out and have been saving up. Fell in love with the idea of a 4Runner but, i need a reliable car and not a hobby. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Parts that need replacement:
Windsheild
Exhaust pipe
Timing Chain
Parts I am worried about:
Rear end
engine. 2.4 Liter 4 cyl (not a turbo diesel)
Hoses and Wiring
