1986 4Runner Locking Wheel Hubs

I am looking to purchase an 86 4runner and the person selling it says one of the locking front wheel hubs needs to be replaced. Does anyone know how difficult and/or expensive this might be. Thanks

I bet they are just dirty and the grease congelled. The AISIN (OEM) ones can easily be cleaned and rebuilt. Check out

Used one are $25-50 - You can replace with new WARN one for about $150 too -- but I'd just take old ones apart. Its a good opportunity to check and repack wheel bearing too.

Thanks, I took the hub off and it had a broken spring. I found some new Warn ones for about $150 though.
