Hey guys what's up. I'm new to this forum thing. So sorry if this has already been talked about.
I have a 1986 Toyota 4Runner. 22re 2.4l
I've been working on it for over a year now. I go full time to work and school and don't always have the time to work on it. When I first started working on it, had a bad transmission and a faulty fuel pump. I swapped a gas tank from another 86 t4r. And got another tranny to put it. Before I put the transmission in I got it running with the swapped gas tank and fuel pump but had to keep it revved or to would die out. I eventually got it to my house where id install the new tyranny. Eventually I got the new tranny in while also replacing the EFI. While I did that I also replaced the fuel filter(brand new) and took injectors from another truck of ours and installed those since I couldn't keep it going without me giving it has. Also replaced oil, coolant/hoses, drive belts and a valve cover gasket.
I've drained out the gas and put in a couple gallons of v power and some fuel system cleaner to unclog the fuel system as much as possible.
Now I've been trying to start it and it cranks and fires but dies after a second or two. I hear the fuel pump activated but I'm not sure what to check next. I'm not sure if maybe the new EFI I put on is messing up the idle because of the throttle body adjustment or maybe the injectors I swapped are bad.
Let me know what you think or any advise. Thanks guys
