1987 Front parking brake cable

Can someone tell me if the front parking brake cable for a 1987 Toyota pickup will work for my '87 4Runner? The one I found is dirt cheap but is for an '84-'88 toyota pickup 2.4L, 5-speed which is the same engine/trans I have.

I assume it will work just fine and it is only $15~ but I don't want to waste time if it won't work, I need it ASAP, I snapped mine today. Or, does anyone happen to have the Dorman part number for the front brake cable?



P.S. I will return and be spending some time on here. I have been planning to make an account but am now forced to do it sooner than I planned. LOL

It should work. I just replaced mine. I can get the toyota part number for you but I don't know Dorman. I recall looking up the part number on google and it came up for a pick-up, but fits my runner just fine

Apart from the top, and any interior pieces int he rear, the 84-89 T-100 4WD truck and 4Runner are identical.

As long as it's from a 4WD truck. I'm not sure on the front, but the rear brake cables are different for the 2WD truck and the 4WD truck/4Runner.
