I bought a 1988 4runner with the 22re that has a bad knock but I bought a reman. engine for it. I would like to add oil pressure and temp. gauges. How difficult is it to change out the entire gauge cluster and add the one from a SR5 that has the tach also?
Not hard at all, search and you'll find plenty of info.
Key things -
You must swap oil press senders too, the idiot light sender will fry the gauge.
A cluster from a V6 truck will work, you just have to re-calibrate it via a pot on the back.
