So my rear window has never worked with the key. It always works with the switch so i figured i would get to the bottome of the key situation. I have not come up with a whole lot. I do have the TSRM electrical wiring diagram for my 88 runner. I am having a hard time reading the diagram on the rear window section.
fo instance on page 62 (section 16) The "G PLUG" does not have a pin 2 but the manual tells me there should be continuity between pins 1-2 when the key is turned to the right. and between pins 1-3 when turned to the left.
I have read on here there are problems with grounds and the rear window relay.
I took voltage reading at the relay for pins 1-13 with the ignition on and off.
ON---- OFF
1) 12.12---- 12vdc
2) 11.8VDC---- 0
3)11.8---- 0
4)0---- 0
5).75---- .05
6)12---- 12
7)12.12---- .06
8)11.8---- 12.3
9) 11.8---- 12.3
10) ground
11) 5.4---- 0
12) 12---- 0
13) 12.12---- 0
Can anyone tell me what they are supposed to read. Am i supposed to have voltage where the key cylinder plugs in? any help would be great. thanks if i have not given enough info let me know.
