1988 Rebuild

I see that there are quite a few of these out there now. I just purchased my first 4Runner. This will be a fun little project. I have always loved older Toyotas. I am excited about this one- the kids love that the top comes off and I love that it will fit the family on outings.

This one has 225,000 miles. It has the V6 Engine and the automatic transmission. Lot's of rust as you can see. I pulled quarterpanels off of another 4Runner that had been gutted. I'll be doing a body transplant on the two quarter panels and then replacing the drivers side fender. The window wells have rusted out, so I am replacing them as well.

This will end up with a new paint job and a few other upgrades as I make my way through the project. Any tips, advice etc would be greatly appreciated.

Body Transplant Part 1

My buddy from Rob's Racks came over today and helped my begin the body transplant on the quarter panels- They came off pretty easy. Next step is to prep for welding.

Zuk Mod

I read on here about the Zuk Mod. My new springs came today, so I can begin work on that in a few days. I don't have any bump stops, so I'll have to figure out another way to hold them on the leaf springs. Any ideas?

New Quarter Panels!

Rob from Rob's Rack's came over yesterday to help me weld on my new quarter panels. I think that these turned out great. More prep work to come, but the new body is coming together!

Updates - New Quarter Panels
