Daniela said:Hello,
I have a 1989 Toyota 4Runner with 227,000km that I sadly will have to sell due to excessive rust on the body. Can you give me an idea as to how much I can ask for it? It runs very well. Everything is fine except for the rust.
Thanks
AlexJet said:It would not be enough to buy a new one. So, make it a trail rig and get yourself something like Corolla to drive acound the town.
AlexJet said:Can you weld up the rust, so you can pass the inspection? As of the truck, get Tacoma, much better then American truck and will last you forever.
Daniela said:I was told that the support beamin the front is not safe anymore because of rust and no autobody shop is willing to take my truck on unless I want to spend $$$$ dollars. It has been a good vehicle for me and I am ready to pass it on I guess.
I appreciate your advice and support though.
TEven Steven said:Put it on ebay, but not as a whole vehicle. Take it apart and sell it in pieces if you have the time. There's a guy doing that now with a 4th gen Sport Edition and he's probably going to make far more than he would if he would have sold the vehicle whole.
He sold his wheels and tires for $800. His front two seats went for $350, etc...

Good luck with selling the 4R.
Why did you not consider a Tacoma or Tundra if your a Toy fan , just wondering![]()
I did get a 2005 Ford Ranger because I needed a truck fast for my orchard. Also there was not a 4Runner, Tacoma or Tundra available in the price range I had in mind.
Maybe I should plant flowers in my old 4Runner and put in in my garden ;-)
Cheers.
