do ball joint spacers and lc coils from a junk yard and that will easilly let u run 33's and its way cheaper than a body lift. and in my opinion way safer to.

where do i get the ball joint spacers and what are lc coils? can u please tell me a size to get and i will call around tomorrow

if you go look on the portland oregon craigslist and type in toyota u will look until u find somthing that says "toyota 3 inch lift" or somthing like that.... click on it and the guy makes them himself out of half inch plate. he charges 5 buck to ship and like 15 bucks per spacer. i have 3 spacers on each side that equals 1.5 inches of lift. i have 33's on my truck and they fit fine.

im assuming u have coils in the rear?? for that you could google toyota coil spacers OR go to a local junk yard and ask for a set of late 80's land cruiser coil springs and just put them in place of your toyota ones.

i belive this is alot cheaper than a body lift and alot more effective when it comes to off roading. plus i hate the way toyotas look with body lifts.... i love how the frame is tucked up and in there!!!

with the ball joint spacers i would say 2" spacer MAX! along with some low profile bumpstops you can get about 2.5" with cranked torsioned bars. i have the 2.5" spacer or "3 inch" lift in the front of mine, and you would not belive the amount of custom work i've hav to do to get the geometry close to stock.. diff drop rear mount, custom front diff drop, ectended bumpstop tops, sway bar drop, wheel spacers, and a major allignment issue unless you find a way to drop the lower arms an inch or two... the body lift for autos is the same minus the little brachet. i've seen people take two stock brackets and wld them together and it worked fine. belive it or not i have a friend with a 1" body lift and low profile upper bumpstops, wwith LC coils, and he's running 35"!!! he rub a dub dubs here and there but alot less than expected

so what's the most amount of lift you can achieve, whether spacer/coils or an actual kit, without having to do additional modifications?

All will require some sort of mortification.

I agree with Thurlo on doing the suspension lift over the body lift.

the rear you can pretty much lift all u want "to a point" and be fine. if you do go with the ball joint spacers you will def. need an alignment after. i wouldnt go with 2 inches of spacer just an inch and a half. on my truck i didnt need a diff drop because my cv angles arnt bad but some do. if you get a diff drop the diff will be exposed and could suffer damage.

get 1.5 inch ball joint spacers wheather it be from a 4wd place or that guy on craiglist, then get an alighnment. then get either LC coils or coil spacers. that should be perfect

This sounds like what I want. Not a gigantic lift, but something. So some old LC coils will level nicely with about a 1.5" spacer up front? I want to be sure I can get rid of the motor boat sag but not over do it with a Funny Car look.
