1990 4Runner back windows very slow.

Hey...
I have a 1990 4Runner with a V6 3.0. Everything works. Cruise control, Power windows etc.
The thing is that the rear windows on both sides go up and down very slowly. They even stop sometimes, making me have to reverse direction and try again.
Is it a hassle to go into the doors and clean something? Or do I have to get new mechanisms?
Thanks.

try cleaning the felt covered track on either side of the window, lots of gunk builds up in there and cleaning the parts of the track you can reach might be enough to help the windows slide easier

otherwise you'll have to remove the door panel and try to clean further down the tracks

I've used silicone spray in the tracks with pretty good success. There was a video on here a few months ago where someone used silicone on the window tracks and it made a huge difference.

Definitely! Spray that silicone spray on the tracks etc, roll it up and down a few times while spraying it and then it should be working better. My passenger side window would literally take 20 seconds to roll down but it cut all the way down to 5 seconds after I sprayed it.
