1990 4Runner interior smells like gas after driving it for a while. Possible causes?

Hey all, my parent's 4Runner's interior smells like gas after driving it after 5-10 minutes. They noticed it after parking on a steep hill in San Francisco, facing uphill. What are some things I could check to narrow down the problem? What are some possible causes as to why there's a gas smell in the interior?

If it helps, some info:

1990 4Runner SR5 V6, 170k miles
Changed fuel cap, but didn't fully solve the issue

Gas cap would have been my first guess. Had a fuel smell too and it ended up being the cap.
Could be a leak at the injectors on the fuel rail, leak around the tank, or the charcoal canister.

pull up your right rear passenger seat and see if you have the access plate for the fuel pump in the raised portion of the floor beneath the seat. Not all 4runners have them. Make sure the lines are all in good shape.

if the other suggestions do not pan out.... If a 3.0 I would suspect injector O-rings or plenum/intake issue. Just fixed mine and on flat ground fuel was leaking from both and running down the back o the motor... smelled it more from under the hood. Facing uphill would tend to guide a leak back under the cab.

Check the fuel pulsation dampener on the passenger side fuel rail too.
