1990 4runner wont start when warm but starts fine when cold

My 1990 4 runner starts up easy when motor is cold but after driving for awhile and trying to start it up again when motor is warm the starter has trouble turning it over. Does anybody know why its doing this? I hope the pistons arent swelling.

I had the same issue on a 1989 Honda CRX...it ended up being the main relay switch. I tested it by taking it out and putting in the fridge for a few, then back in and testing...then putting a blow dryer to it to heat it up and test again. Back and forth I went and it would start up everytime cold. Don't know if it could be the same, but an easy try. Good Luck.
