1991 4 Runner with 350CI?

Ok, i have a 1991 4 runner with 208k miles. Just this week the rods started knocking, a few lifters went flat, and the Oil pump went out, causing the motor to cease up. Chain reaction? Anyway, i really dont want to put another Toyota V6 in it, and i have a 2 week old clutch, so i was wondering what is an Inexpensive kit to help me put my own Chevrolet 350ci motor in it, using the stock clutch and running gear. Seems i would need a new bell housing, a few converters, engine mounts and so on. Anything i should know before attempting this? I need to do it with Budget in mind, around 2000 dollars total, I will take care of getting the 350, and it will be included in the 2000 dollar budget. Im new here, so please help me out. Tia.

My opinion is that the V6 tranny and clutch would not last long with a V8 mated to it. Why not take some measurement and try to fit a sutible tranny, and just have the drive shaft altered. I am sure it can be done, just need to find a kit with mounts and such. Good luck
