TBH, that 4runner sounds in rough shape. You need to post pictures of the exterior and interior. If its an '88 and it was extremely clean with high mileage, I'd pay 2400... I'd honestly offer lower than 1500 for it if it is in bad shape, especially if you check the engine and it's not been taken care of. I'd offer less tha 1k IMO.

my 4runner is worth KBB for more than 4200 down here in San Anto, TX... Not including the rebuild of the engine on less than 100k miles, and the system, and the extra upgrades I've done.

I'm with bad-vision on the price of trucks, but you got hosed on the windshield $150 all day long here in NorCal. These runner's from 85 -89 seem to be holding there value at around $2500 on up to crazy $ and at that $2500 range it is missing a lot of interior or has some mechanical issues. Around here when you find them for less than that they're really gutted or smashed up and definitely don't run but I will say that the vast majority of All Toyota trucks/runners here are free of rotten body cancer or frame rotting issues, so thats a nice start...... I geuss!
