1992 Oil pan gasket replacement...

Hello All!

I just recently purchased a 1992 4Runner.
182K
V6 3VZ 3.0 liter

Now, I'm pretty sure my oil pan is leaking (hopefully the only thing leaking) I've heard that I will have to take out the front differential to replace the oil pan gasket. Is this true?

Also, what else can I do to improve gas mileage besides....

Air filter
Properly inflated tires, everything lubed up, ect...
