I was attempting to jump start my 1994 4runner the other night. I managed to reverse the wires. Yup, felt really good about that. Anyway, I replaced the battery and a blown EFI fuse (the only blown one I could find) and attempted to start. Nothing.
I flipped the valet switch (under the dash) for the alarm (factory installed) with the key in the Start position. The horn gave a very short honk and the alarm light in the dash blinked 3 times. There was a several second pause, then It repeated the short honk and flashing until I disconnected the battery.
I'm not sure how to proceed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe a blown fuse that I was unable to locate?
I bought this truck new and haven't had ANY trouble with it until my bone-headed jump start attempt.
First time poster.
Thanks!
