1994 4Runner slow??

I got a question for you 94 4Runner people. I have a 94 3.0L, V6 and it is slow. It accelerates slow, almost as if the parking brakes were on (they're not). And it's pretty slow on the freeway also (65mph, 3000 RPM). I don't mind going 65, but the slow acceleration drives me crazy. I've had it for about 6 yrs and its always been this way. It has about 166K on it. I had the transmission rebuilt back when I got it. I'm just curious if this is normal behavior for this particular truck? Any insight would be great. Thanks. Its not a 4WD btw.

its a 3.0 4runner.... thats what they do

it earned its name 3slow for a reason. I put intake and removed the cat and ran 2.5 inch back to a pro flow muffler and it woke it up at 3200rpm but very little, killed the mileage (12mpg) so now I just pin it every where if the motor lasts till I do my SBC swap great if not oh well.

The A340H and chain driven t-case really kill the 3VZE. With 4.88s and the R150F it's not as bad.
