1994 Door Panel Removal

I searched for this a bit and didn't find anything. I'm trying to fix my dead passenger-window; how do you remove the little trim-panel around the Door Handle? everything else seems straight-forward but after taking the screw out of the middle; the plate still seems very securely attached.

All other windows work and I tried a known good switch on the passenger side with no change - although the plug does have power there are no sparks (the way it does on a working window) or signs of life when rocking the switch with the cover off. I don't understand the pinout so I can't say much more about whats going on. I assume the motor is not grounded or otherwise at fault here.

On older Toys, once the screw is removed, you just pull the trim piece out while holding the handle in the open position.
Can't see why yours would be any different.

when i took mine apart, I read that it was a PITA to get the handle disconnected and reconnected to the door latch, so i just turned the whole trim sideways and pushed it thought the hole.

here is how my 1991 manual says to do it:

Incase anyone is wondering the Plate/Trim and the Handle are one piece. You push the whole thing forware (Trim and Handle) about 1/4 of an inch and it'll release. Mine had to be jiggled quite a bit so that it would release and slide forware. unclip the white retainer from the actuator-rod and your done.
