S saltyf15 New member Apr 15, 2009 #5 which number is the axle code on the vin plate and where are the free vin decoders you speak of. I have found a few but they don't tell you much and if you want more info its like $20.

fourwd1 Moderator Apr 15, 2009 #6 It's typically a letter and 3 numbers (ex G292) that is printed after the words AXLE CODE. A lot of the sites like this have the charts posted somewhere. I have one one the PC at my other desk, just post it here if you can't find one.
