1995 4runner 3.0 another qustion

So iv had my truck for a little over a year now and iv always wounder what this was? and what does it do?

can i take it off if i wanted to? does the little filter inside make you have better mpg?

etc....?

just wanna know what it does and what it is called and whats the purpose of it?

It's a dashpot. It's designed to open the throttle slightly during deceleration, to reduce CO and HC.

I would just leave it alone.
 
help with a photo

I am new to the 4 runner , just getting my first one a 1994 that needs some work . my cable to the Down shift has not place to connect to the throttle body . Can I get a better photo please so I will have a better Idea on what part to look for . The cable is in place and ready . I don't have any help from the PO
