Hello all,

I bought a 1995 4runner with a v6 a few weeks ago and its has a miss that turned out to be 50lbs compression in cylinder #1. I didnt notice anything with the exhaust as far as antifreeze. but my buddy that did the compression test said that he put a scope in there and the valves looked fine. Im a chevy guy so Im unsure as to issues with these motor. But after looking at this forum it appears HG are a common thing. Could I be loosing compression into the motor? It may be missing a water jacket and going into the vavle cavity? I think Friday Im pulling the heads to check it out. It has 170,000 miles.
Any help would be great!!
Thanks
Paul

Update:
I called the dealer and they ran the vin#. They said that the HG were replaced in July 2007, they didnt know the milage then. They did say that the steering rod is still open for replacement.
