I have a 1995 Corolla as my daily driver, Just did the T-belt and water pump, and the drive axles (made the car shake)
. Since the car doesn't shake when driving anymore, I've noticed a horrible rattling noise. What's happening is the crank pulley is rubbing against the timing mark flange on the timing cover. It's all been installed correctly, but for some reason the crank pulley smacks against the flange. :redbrick:It's got almost 200K miles so I don't care about how much longer it's gonna go, but I'd prefer not to just cut this flange off. Any suggestions on how I could simply push the cover away from the pulley? I can get a pry bar in between the belts and push on it, and the noise goes away. So I know that's the problem, but no ideas on how to fix it. But it won't stay back.
Thanks in advance.
