1995 Toyo4runner -1.2015 Update

Hey everyone...im new here....

I just got a clean 1995 toyo4runner and yes the head gasket is blown...

Im going to keep the truck and have the engine rebuilt....

My question is....what kind of head gaskets should I get to ensure this does not happen for a long time?

Its got the V6 3.0 in it...

I found a place that sells used toyo engines and the owner stated that the v6 3.0 is not worth selling used because of the gasket issues.....makes sense as I have done research on these engines...

For the gasket itself, I would get Toyota. Can't beat the quality of OEM.
If you want to make it last even longer, install a set of headers while you are going a head gasket job.

Make sure to do a valve job n pressure test the head.
Also some of the block need to be resurface.

Also - Make sure that the cat isn't clogged or the new head gaskets could be subjected to overly hot exhaust gas temps.

headers are the best but very pricey... so while you're in there, you can use exhaust wrap. its cheaper but not as good as installing headers, but better than nothing. thats what i'm doing with mine. should do ok for my needs.

1995 toyo 4 runner update

So...long time no post...

I actually had the whole engine rebuilt and I think I like toyo 4 runners now....

My only regret is I wish I would have built a 4x4 one...I might have to buy another toyo 4 runner...

With new rebuilt motor...it passes smog like a champ and has very little emmisions...

What else could I do this 4 runner?
