1996 4runner Head Gasket recall ?

I am thinking of buying a '96 Runner. I have searched and searched but I cannot determine whether or not these are affected with the recall for the head gaskets? If so, how long before Toyota will not honor the recall and repair them free of charge? Thanks for your help.

Im not 100% but I dont think the 96 up models have that problem, I thought it was with the earlier 3.0 V6 motors

For information on recalls for a specific make/model, go to Home | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) | U.S. Department of Transportation. There is a recall search feature that generally finds anything the government is aware of. For 96 4Runners, there's the rear suspension springs/bump stops, marker lights, and the idiot card that's supposed to be attached to your driver's side visor. Nothing about the head gasket.
