Just when I thought had seen everything on Craigslist, along comes this 4Runner.
1996 4Runner SR5 4WD - Hero!
1996 4Runner SR5 4WD - Hero! - $4500 (Central District)
Black with gold emblems. I've had this truck a while and would never sell it but I'm moving to Africa for two years, so ya, that's not going to work out. This is by far the best car I've ever had, this is the peak of SUV's in my opinion, just the right size, simple, rugged and doesn't weigh a ton.
Interior is in decent condition, tan cloth isn't bad though hardly perfect after 14 years of use. Exterior is very nice except that this car decided to be a hero one day and jumped in the way of two hooligans trying to kill each other in front of my house a few years back. So it has four 9mm bullet holes in the left rear quarterpanel. Her and I talked about fixing it, but she decided she wanted to wear her wounds proudly, so we just covered them up with duck tape. It is far from obvious, but that's why this car is going for $2500 less than the others on here.
Other specs:
- 230k on chassis, new engine two years ago with about 80k on it, runs like a top
- 3.4L V6, runs like a top, this is a new (used) engine with less than 10k miles since I put it in
- black exterior, beige cloth interior
- full time 2wd, part time 4wd lo or hi. gets around 20mpg on the highway
- power locks, power windows, moonroof
- power brakes, power steering
- aftermarket stereo, has ipod input and aux input
- tires are in good shape and nice Michelin all weathers
- chains included
- thule bars, bike racks and ski racks
- 2" hitch (also have another bike rack I'd let go of cheap that works with this)
Seriously, this is a sweet car for the money, I guarantee you won't find a better deal on Craigslist right now. The bullet holes are a non-issue. This will sell this weekend, so make some time to see it.
