After much stressing and searching I found a '97 4wd V6 with 150k miles. I bought it from the son of the original owner. He even had the invoice from when he bought it in '97 as well as the original service and owner's manual.
AC was replaced about 10k ago and blows ice cold and strong. Tires have less than 10k miles from Discount Tire and have the road certs which is pretty sweet. Also the guy installed Pioneer sound with touch screen sat nav which is totally unnecessary but I'm not complaining. The alternator looks like it is just about brand new as well.
He said he wasn't sure if the timing belt was ever done but it appears he was full of it. I took the truck to my mechanic to have him diagnose a pretty loud clicking noise from the motor and, according to him "someone did a terrible job installing a new timing belt and its so loose it is hitting the cover. The hydraulic tensioner is almost in pieces". So he is doing the timing belt, pulleys, tensioner, and water pump. Otherwise it seems mechanically solid. I have a leak from the rear output shaft from the transfer case but thanks to [MENTION=44220]BigFishAllDay[/MENTION] and his writeup on the subject that will be fixed shortly.
Immediate future plans include lower ball joints (OEM from Toyota), Denso radiator (on its way), likely B&M trans cooler and temp sending unit, replace front and rear diff fluids and trans fluid, and deckplate (also on its way).
Long term I am gonna rock the Toytec Boss with 285/75/16 Duratracs but I need to finish paying for the truck before I can get crazy.
