This morning........ my stock stereo died. :sadwave:
I need to replace it now! Drove 300 miles today listening to the tires on the road. :bonk: Anyway...I don't want to spend alot of money...just need a radio and CD player. I'm keeping the stock speakers too.
Do any of you guys have any experience or thoughts on what to replace it with? Also....how do I fill the left over hole if I don't put back a double din size unit?
Thanks....
Todd

Go get yourself a entry/mid-entry level Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Kenwood cd player. I am a Pioneer rep so sure I am going to suggest a Pioneer headunit. Look at the Dehp-3800mp or the 4800mp both do most everything you would need unless your looking to add multiple amps or subs etc. If you just want something that sounds good produces good power from the deck check those out. The 4800mp has been a slow seller this year so most authorized dealers should be running specials on them if not your local big box electronics store should. Look to pay about $130-145 for the 3800mp and $140-160 for the 4800mp. Asfar as putting a single din radio into the factory double din slot. Metra or Scosche both make aftermarket under pockets that bolt right in place.

i put a switch panel in the open space and set it about 2 inches back from the opening then painted a piece of plexiglass and put a small long hinge on it so i have a door to cover the switch panel but i can open the door on the hinge to "reveal" the switch panel.

if it doesnt make sense i can post some pics

here it is, it opens all the way too
