1997 4Runner ANZO Black Headlights

Just installed the ANZO Headlights paid about 200$ shipped for them on ebay.. They took off about 10 YEARS on the look of my truck..

Bottom Night time. Definately alot clearer. I bought an OPT& H4 HID KIT But the water proof plug is in the wrong position of where it should be so i have not installed them yet.?? I have a SYLVANIA LED Driving light 194 bulb on the right and regular driving light bulb on the left. Testing out LED Bulbs.

They look great, but if you plan on running HIDs I am gonna have to try and stop you from putting them in a reflective housing, it needs to be done right with a projector retrofit. Otherwise you can blind other drivers and get yourself into trouble with the law. I have heard of others getting in trouble with projector retrofits also, but that's more rare than getting in trouble for having HIDs in a halogen reflective housing. The main issue is making sure other drivers can see when you're facing each other on opposite sides of the road, especially in a taller vehicle such as a T4R, projectors are designed for HIDs, stock reflective housings are not.

I have PIAA Fogs on the Manik Stainless brushguard. and i have hellas on the lower bumper. i obviously dont run the PIAAS on the brush guard while driving lol. The headlights are on LOW Beam with stock OSRAM bulbs in this pic

I'm not sure about LEDs, I've never done research on em.
I have PIAAs on my bumper, but they're the ion yellow driving lights in chrome aka 5263. Use em all the time night wheeling, only time on road when I turn them on is when purposefully trying to blind some douche driver who I just let pass me cuz they're riding my ass while I'm doing the speed limit. :biggrin2:

Hey guys! So I'm looking to replace my low beam Sylvannia Ultrastar halogen lights with something much brighter. I'm looking into HID bulbs. However, I read that there's also a HIR bulb? Anyone know the difference between the two?
[MENTION=97478]BlazeRunner[/MENTION] in order to replace any halogen headlights to the HID I'll need to replace the light assembly to projectors??? I've yet to read that. However, I want to do it right, so I don't get any problems from the man.

I'm pretty sure you're going to be blinding people with hid bulbs in the reflective housing. I don't know this from personal experience. But it's what I was told when I was looking into getting hid bulbs

I ran HID bulb kit for a week and got flashed a lot at night, too much light in a housing designed for Halogen

I pulled the kit out, returned it and went with retrofit projectors instead.

You can use a pin or small screwdriver to remove the blades from the headlamp connector, pass them through the grommet, and reinsert them back into the connector - similar procedure you'd use to reverse polarity as they mention.

Also be sure to reuse the factory headlamp boots to keep moisture out of the headlamps, as shown on their instructions. their waterproof washer goes behind the factory headlamp boot. You may need to modify the factory boot.

If the connector you received is wrong, send your kit back. Although if you are anxious to try it you can remove the pins from their connector and install directly into your factory headlamp socket one pin at a time; but I'd not drive that way, just test.

Those look like 99 headlamps/side markers with the faces painted black. Is the headlamp lens glass or plastic?

With the markers black, the bulbs basically become dots at night and defeat the purpose of side markers. I know because I painted mine.

The black "face" headlamp seems aesthetically pleasing but makes your car less reflective to other vehicles. I pained my entire reflective housing, face and bowl when I did my retrofit projectors and almost wish I hadn't - but that's water under the bridge.

I'm interested to see the mounting brackets/adjustments of that kit to compare to 99 factory, along with breather hoses, etc. $200 is a good price for both headlamps and markers if they are factory equivalent.
