1997 4runner SR5 - 6 disk cd changer has ERR1

does anyone know if there is a fix for ERR1 or ERR2 in the 6 disc cd changer?
I have tried different cd's and cleaned it out.

Most of all , is there a aftermarket changer that will use the same wires?
I am not a huge cd guy , but it would be nice to have it work.
It also has the cassette player, so i use cassette adapter to have mp3. that all works fine.

Is there a unit you guys have tried that will have an indash mount that is easy even for me to install?

I'd be surprised if it did still work;honestly I'd go out and spend even just a $100 and get a much better deck than you have now by far and you have ipod/mp3/cd/sat radio at your convenience. You'd spend alot more on just a changer.

Does anyone have ideas for known decks that fit right into the 1997 4runner slot?

I am also thinking of just getting a gps with a massive mp3 storage and run a wire from the cassette adapter up to the gps.

i have an apline 6 cd changer under the drivers seat which is unseen and easily accessible, idk if it workd with stock wires but i love it. I also have an alpine headunit.
