Does anyone know the cheapest way to swap rear differential 3rd member? Buy used from salvage yard? Where can I get the cheapest reman 3rd member? How much should I expect to pay?

Salvage yards probably be cheapest, but it can be a crap shoot. East Coast Gear Supply sell rebuilt 3rd members and are well known business. You can get them setup with different gear ratio and locker installed if you want. Might want to check them out.

Will start the job once I pick up some 75W 90 oil, bigger jack stands and metric crowfoot wrenches and receive the replacement Toyota nuts and bolts I ordered to replace all the rusted ones.

Another question: Should I park it until I fix it? It makes kind of a whir-whir sound above 30 mph...

Need to torque the bolts attaching the diff to the drive shaft but a torque wrench won't fit in the gap.
